Our specially negotiated prices include the lagging of all cold water tanks and pipes in the loft and insulating and draft proofing your loft hatch. The insulation is quick and simple to install and can usually be completed within a couple of hours.
The insulation used by the Tesco Home Insulation Service is a glass or mineral fibre material and is laid between the joists with additional layers cross-laid at right angles to ensure there are no gaps at the top of the joists.
If you want to be even greener and have a sustainably manufactured material used in your property as opposed to the standard glass or mineral fibre, then please express your requirements upon application to the service or during your free no obligation assessment, and we will advise of the options available to you. Please be aware that alternative materials will incur additional costs.
Please note that insulation available through the Tesco Home Insulation Service applies only to that laid on the floor of the loft and does not apply to any insulation that may be required under the tiles/slates. Also, unfortunately the insulation that we install is not suitable for converted loft areas or where boards cover over 20% of the floor space.
Step 1The installers will lay the new insulation and where necessary over the top of any existing insulation.
The insulation will be laid to allow a gap up to the eaves in order to allow ventilation into the roof space. If additional ventilation is required the installers will discuss the various options with you.
Cold water tanks and water pipes will be checked by the installers to ensure that they meet current insulation requirements. Where necessary additional tank and pipe insulation will be fitted.
The back of the loft hatch will be insulated up to the same depth as the loft insulation. The hatch insulation will be covered in plastic and secured to the hatch. Where possible, draught proofing will be fitted around the edge of the loft hatch.
Once all of the work is complete the installers will remove any surplus debris.
